About

Claire Flint

Claire Flint was born in 1979 in Santa Barbara, California. Her grandmother introduced her to painting at the age of seven. She has since explored everything from watercolor still-life realism to impressionistic figurative oil painting, three-dimensional mixed-media, and her new-found love, photography and encaustic media.

“My art is my therapy, my church, my friend, and sometimes my demon. The creative process helps me to integrate things about my life and the world around me in a way that makes it stick. I enjoy following my intuition, exploring unfamiliar territory, and that moment just after experiencing the terror and resistance of something new, when I can fall into a state of complete trust.”

Claire has been an accomplished graphic designer and illustrator for the last ten years. She has served as art director, head designer, and illustrator on both corporate and freelance levels, working with companies such as Coldwater Creek, PhotoTidings, and 4YourSoul.com.

Claire lives in Eugene, Oregon with her 3-year-old daughter Penelope “Penny” Lane and musically gifted husband Mike. She currently divides her time between mothering, making art, and working as a graphic designer and illustrator for Eugene-based design firm, Presentation Design Group.
